A good level of English language skills is required to commence a course. Students need to be able to speak, read, and write English to a basic level - that is, to a level where they can deal with everyday social situations in English.
Students granted a Student Visa to study in Australia usually meet English language skill requirements. However, students who are unsure whether their English skills are satisfactory can email us with details about the course that they are interested in and a sample of the English skill level required will be sent to them.If students do not have basic English skills then they may be eligible to learn English through the Adult Learning Program (AMEP) provided by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. AMEP tuition is provided free of charge to the majority of clients. Free childcare can also be arranged if required. This program is available to adult migrants (18 years old or over) for whom English is not their first language, and who have been assessed as not having the appropriate level of English language skills. For further information contact an Adult Migrant English Program provider. Listed below are contact details for offices within South Australia. English
