Certificate IV in Business Administration
(Course Code: BSB40507)

 

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed administrative skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of administrative contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Job titles relevant to this qualification include accounts supervisor, executive personal assistant, office administrator, project assistant.

Entry Requirements: There are no specific entry requirements, however, completion of the Certificate III in Business Administration, or some vocational experience providing administrative and/or operational support is preferred.

Length: Self-paced (average 10 months full-time).

Cost: $3000.00 ($2700.00 concession) with no prior training/experience, or $1400.00 ($1260.00 concession) for students who have completed the Certificate III in Business Administration.

Core Structure:

A total of 10 units must be completed to achieve the qualification.

Core administration units (choose at least 5 of the following units):

  • Design and develop complex text documents
  • Develop and use complex spreadsheets
  • Produce complex desktop published documents
  • Write complex documents

Elective units (choose the remaining units from the following):

  • Review and maintain a website
  • Report on financial activity
  • Coordinate business resources
  • Provide innovation in a team environment
